The recent pairing of Mélomanie with the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts was perfect, given that the ensemble’s penchant for compositions and instruments both old and new create something entirely unique. The group has premiered many a composer’s new work, and its oeuvre of recorded music should be part of any collector’s CD rack. Performances are intimate, enlightening and stunning. Mélomanie’s 21st birthday party at the Queen last fall was more fun than any bunch of music geeks should have been allowed to have. (P.O. Box 7216, Wilmington, 764-6338, www.melomanie.org)
