The Rusty Rudder
(Editors, Downstate)
On a clear summer night, with a breeze blowing across the bay, there’s no better place to enjoy a performance than the deck of The Rusty Rudder. The Rudder has always been a great spot to catch local bands, up-and-comers and the occasional national act. Legendary local band Love Seed Mama Jump remains a regular, and Keith Mack still stops in. Next month Shooter Jennings & Waymore’s Outlaws will rock the place. The Rudder also hosts the Delaware Music Festival, Dewey Beach Popfest, DJ Fest, Dewey Beach Country & Americana Festival, and the Dewey Beach Music Conference. And let’s not forget the calypso band Island Boyz, who each day set the tone for the night’s festivities.
