For the past 12 years, Delaware Shakespeare Festival has staged two weeks of plays each July. For the past three or four years, DSF has provided programming at other times, too, such as a Shakespeare/Poe series of readings each Halloween. Last spring, DSF took another leap, introducing Community Cornerstone to spark dialogue about important issues. It’s the kind of effort that keeps Shakespeare relevant—even if he doesn’t need the help—and keeps us engaged with the greatest literary inheritance in the English language by engaging us more deeply with each other.
