Most companies offer public relations language that refers to diversity. But how does your company truly respect the concept of diversity, in terms of offering equal opportunities to all qualified employees, regardless of race, gender or age?
“I am African-American and Muslim. Need I say more?”

How are you awarded for your accomplishments, and why do you feel your company truly values your work?
“My boss is a great boss. He was promoted for his outstanding work. Promotions happen on a regular basis at Dawn. The CEO comes down to our division and other divisions and gives compliments.”

Nahiem Rodriguez, admissions representative

Does your company offer a 401(k) profit sharing plan?
“Yes. To me, a 401(k) plan shows the company is invested in your future and how to manage your money.

On good morale and  positive culture …
“We have a sunshine group that picks one employee during the week to give prizes to and sing a song to. That employee’s picture is taken as they are wearing funny sunglasses and holding lottery tickets. Then the picture is sent to the entire staff to spread joy and happiness.”

Gail Gardner, on-line instructor

On rewarding accomplishments …
“The sunshine committee comes around to an employee that has a positive attitude and who is always there to help anyone. We have teacher appreciation day for our instructors. They are given a token of appreciation by management in the classroom—in front of students. I feel appreciated when they ask me to take on a new task that they know will be challenging, but they have the confidence in me to complete it.”
