Metro Pub & Grill opened late last year, but it has already made a splash in this fast-growing town. The sleek dining room boasts all the accouterments of a trendy bistro—brick walls, wood floors and a black ceiling with exposed ductwork. The drink menu features specialty cocktails such as the Middletown Boxcar with bourbon, cranberry purée, orange bitters and soda water. There are also craft beers, including selections from nearby Blue Earl Brewing Company. Executive chef Patrick D’Amico’s stylized gastropub cuisine includes dishes such as shrimp fritters, grilled beef coulotte steak and grilled swordfish. You’ll want to save room for dessert.
