These are a few of brides’ favorite things.

Especially this spring, when styles for attire, makeup and hair are fresh yet polished.

Brides have been stepping up to colorful shoes in recent seasons, either to make a whimsical fashion statement or to mirror the hue of the bridesmaids’ gowns. Now they are embracing black 4-inch stilettos from high-end designers, shoes they can don again after their walk down the aisle. Think Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik.

“Blue shoes have become a very cool way for brides to introduce the traditional something blue to their outfit, but we’ve seen hot pink, too,” says Luba Cawley, owner of Anastasia’s Bridal Salon in Greenville. “Now black shoes are in vogue.”
