My role is to assure excellence in clinical nursing and our patient care environment. You need to have excellent communication skills, lead and influence through an ever-changing healthcare environment, develop exceptional nurses, and build relationships throughout the healthcare system and community. The Affordable Care Act will generate new opportunities to enhance the role of advanced practice nurses. Nurses who act as navigators and health coaches will support families as they focus on health and preventative care changes.
