CAMPaign Fairlee

The public phase of this fundraiser for Camp Fairlee is underway. Here’s how you can help.

Most nonprofits hold fundraising campaigns before they begin capital improvements. Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore believes that, if improvements are needed, they shouldn’t wait until all the funds are raised. I So, in the past year or so, the organization spent about $6.5 million on improvements to Camp Fairlee, its recreation and respite facility near Chestertown, Md. The work includes four new residential cabins, a dining hall expansion, a 12,000-square-foot activity center and a new health center. I As a measure of its own confidence, Easter Seals used $2 million of its endowment funds to get the project started. Now, CAMPaign Fairlee is under way, with a goal of raising the remaining $4.5 million. By mid-August, businesses and foundations had contributed more than $3.6 million, leaving less than $1 million to go as the campaign enters its public phase. I To learn more about CAMPaign Fairlee, or to make a contribution, contact the development office at (302) 324-4444 or email developmentoffice@esdel.org.
