Cheers! Hockessin's Drip Café Now Serves Cocktails

Plus, an update on the eatery’s upcoming Newark launch.

We spoke back in April with Greg Vogeley, owner of Drip Café, about his impending expansion to Newark, plus his plans to obtain a liquor license for the Hockessin eatery.

Well, the license came through a few weeks ago, and the eatery has since rolled out a small menu of craft beer, wine and breakfast cocktails to round out its other beverage offerings.

“We felt as though patrons were asking for some of the classic cocktails regularly, and we wanted to respond to their requests,” Vogeley says. “Over a short period of time, this menu change has been received positively. The addition of this license also helps us utilize our dining area as a private event space in the evenings through the holiday season.”

As far as the Newark location, Vogeley had originally hoped to open it by the time University of Delaware students returned to campus. Due to a few delivery setbacks in August, however, the opening has been pushed back to a currently unannounced date this month.

And on Wednesday, Sept. 26, Drip Café’s Hockessin location will be hosting a fundraiser dinner for Nemours. The five-course meal starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $60, include drinks and can be purchased at Drip Cafe or on the event website
