If you’ve ever been lucky enough to experience the sheer exhilaration of a hole in one, imagine experiencing it three times in four weeks. That’s exactly what Delaware amateur golfer Ron Malkin did when he jarred aces last August and September at Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club in Newark, Del.
Malkin aced—twice—the long par-3 eighth hole with a 3-wood, plus the slippery par-3 16th hole with a 6-iron. He’s a two-handicap, so skill factored into all three shots. But when you consider there are longtime tour pros who have never had one in their whole career, you put the amount of good fortune of this accomplishment into perspective.
