The only statewide music school offers programs for all ages and abilities, including private lessons in all orchestral and band instruments, piano, organ, harpsichord, guitar, harp and voice. The school teaches early childhood classes, the Suzuki Academy, orchestral, choral and chamber music ensembles, music history and theory, music therapy and special classes for adults. “Music is for everyone and it can be meaningfully explored at any age, including by those with mental or physical disabilities, by those on the autism spectrum and by those with Alzheimer’s,” says school director Kate Ransom. “And let’s not forget the seed of musical potential planted and nurtured early is what produces future musical performers in all genres. The sooner talent is revealed and developed, the more likely it is to produce a professional musician to carry our musical traditions into the future.” Milford, 422-2043; Wilmington, 762-1132, wilmingtonmusic.org
