Delaware Beach Shopping: By the Book

Biblion in Lewes features used books, but it also sells new books by local authors or books on local subjects. Consider Rehoboth Beach native Ann Revere Reed’s new suspense novel, “On a Dime: Senseless in Lewes,” about a bank manager living in Lewes.

You’ll also find local author James Schneider’s book, “The Highest Burden of the Law,” as well as local historian Hazel Brittingham’s “Lantern on Lewes: Where the Past is the Present.” The shop, located on Second Street, also sells note cards, notebooks, literary finger puppet figures and coffee mugs with disappearing graphics, such as the Cheshire Cat. Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach, another independently owned bookstore, sells bestsellers along with tomes by Delaware authors. Jill Biden in summer signed copies of her book “Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops.” The store also sells coastal resident Joanne DeFiore’s “A Day in Rehoboth Beach,” a popup book for children. Her grandsons, Keith and Brian Allen, collaborated on the project. You’ll also find calendars, candles, sticker books, and T-shirts. (226-2665, browseaboutbooks.com)
