Museum shops are a great place to find distinctive gifts linked to the past, and that’s certainly the case at the Lewes Historical Society’s shop, located in the Ryves Holt House on Second Street. Along with books on local history, you’ll find original oil and watercolor paintings, ranging from $300 to $1,700, by the late Matthew Mack. Shelves and tables are also full of note cards, garden flags and Lewes Historical Society sweatshirts, hats and jackets. (645-7670 ext. 12, historiclewes.org)
Find prints and note cards featuring vintage postcards at the Rehoboth Beach Museum. The postcards also provide the artwork for picture books—even coasters, says Nancy Alexander, executive director. (227-7310, rehobothbeachmuseum.org)
