Minor League Pitcher
Jason Adam, Wilmington Blue Rocks
Compensation: $1,300/month (during baseball season)
On the team: one year
Job fave: “I get to literally play a game for a living and it’s an opportunity to be one step closer to reaching my ultimate goal/dream of playing in the Big Leagues.”
Biggest challenge: “Trying to maintain consistency with all of my pitches. Anybody can throw a good pitch every once in a while, but to be a great pitcher you have to be able to consistently repeat those pitches. To work on it, I do mechanical drills every day and maintain complete focus on every throw that I make.”
Five years back: Playing high school baseball as a sophomore
Hopes for five years ahead: Playing Major League Baseball for the Kansas City Royals
Impressive stat: Threw 165 innings last season—a big increase from the previous year.
