Delaware State Golf Association 2011 Players of the Year

The Delaware State Golf Association was established in 1952, with membership currently consisting of 52 member clubs. The DSGA encompasses the state of Delaware and portions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Members of all DSGA member clubs are eligible for all DSGA events. Here are the standout players and award winners from 2011.

Player of the Year

Greg Wolfe
Cavalier Country Club’s Wolfe was the Player of the Year for 2011. His second-place showing at the Delaware State Amateur Championship (Back Creek Golf Club) helped him amass a season-high 360 points. Top 10 finishes at the DSGA Open Championship (King’s Creek Country Club) and the Mid-Open Championship (Hartefeld National) rounded out his award-winning season.

Junior Player of the Year

Chris Hickman
Hickman, of Wild Quail Country Club, won his second straight Junior Player of the Year Award with 330 total points during the season. His win at the Junior Championship (Newark Country Club) marked his third straight victory in that event. He also finished tied for sixth place in the Amateur Championship (Back Creek Golf Club).

Senior Player of the Year

Mark Surtees 
Back Creek Golf Club’s Surtees accomplished a three-peat: winning the Senior Player of the Year Award for the 3rd straight year in 2011. His win at the Senior Championship (Odessa National Golf Club) and a fifth-place finish at the Open Championship (King’s Creek Country Club) propelled him to a season-high 280 points.
