By now, beach-area foodies have noticed that Sugarbakers of Baltimore has been a constant at charity benefits and a perennial winner at the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival. If they haven’t caught on to the fact that Cake Bar in Lewes is the second home to Sugarbakers, this is the notice. Cake Bar offers not only delectable baked goods, but also a full-service restaurant with a fun, affordable menu of “food people feel comfortable with,” says chef-owner and baker Jamie Williams. That means crab cakes, shrimp and grits, steaks, sandwiches and salads. The sweet side of the Cake Bar is everything you’d imagine. For the holidays, it’s the place for traditional and fancy cookies, pumpkin spice cake, gingerbread items, macaroons and the Berger cookie: soft, buttery cookies with dark chocolate fudge icing. Now that Cake Bar’s secret is out, traditional yule logs are sure to sell fast. (645-2253) —Mark Nardone
