Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition

DBCC is the only organization in the state focused solely on breast health issues as they affect the women and men who live here. It offers various education, support, referral and screening programs tailored to the unique needs of different populations, including young women with breast cancer, African-American women, Latinas, lesbians, and women with disabilities. In addition, DBCC has referred thousands of uninsured adults for free and low-cost cancer screenings, and has removed barriers to cancer screenings and treatment by providing interpretation, transportation and support services.

Services include financial support for essential needs such as clothing, shelter and food; financial support toward counseling and mentoring for abused, grief stricken or disease-afflicted children; and scholarships, fellowships, and education grants for students in grades K-12, including support for special needs and learning-disabled students.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a warm, safe “home away from home” for families with seriously and/or chronically ill or injured children seeking medical treatments at nearby hospitals. Families are asked to contribute $15 per night; however no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Sunday Breakfast Mission serves the homeless, hungry and hurting through Christ-centered programs. The Mission provides more than 900 meals to men, women, boys and girls daily, as well as shelter. In addition, Sunday Breakfast Mission also serves adults with its residential addiction programming, as well as delivering thousands of items of furniture, clothing and household goods to the poor.
