“Having a small retail business demands a lot of time and work, but being able to run that business in the community I love, near those that mean the most to me, reaps great rewards,” says Erin Tinsley, owner of Bel Boutique in Dover. After years of dreaming and planning, Tinsley opened the boutique to fill a gap in the shopping scene, which she thought needed unique and affordable women’s clothing. Her daily duties include marketing and advertising, buying, accounting, merchandising and helping customers. “Forward progress is the only way to success,” Tinsley says. “When things get crazy, overwhelming or even slow, we just have to keep on moving.”
