Years of experience at DuPont have served Martha Carper well in her latest endeavor. Since 2008, she’s been an assistant professor of fashion and apparel studies at the University of Delaware, where she teaches global trade, production and sourcing and product development. That means she maintains a special interest in the global supply chain, as well as production and marketing of residential, commercial and performance textiles. Her teaching expertise stems in part from helping DuPont develop its business strategy for interior textiles, including residential carpet and upholstery and automotive textiles, as well as helping to develop a strategic plan to combine all DuPont textile businesses into one global unit.
