Downton Abbey Fans: Wine and Dine at Hotel du Pont

Learn traditional techniques at a special cooking demonstration or leave it to the experts and enjoy a two-course lunch.

Mrs. Patmore would be proud. Green Room sous chef Philip Dersch has prepared a menu befitting the best of Mrs. P’s at Downton Abbey, the estate of the eponymously named hit PBS television series, for a special cooking demonstration at the Hotel du Pont on Feb. 27. Learn several traditional techniques to use at home, several we’re certain Alfred would learn while attending training at the Ritz as a chef in honor of the great August Escoffier. Director of restaurants Richard Slutter of DuPont Hospitality will discuss the wine pairings. For the week after the “Downton Abbey” season finale, the Green Room will host a two-course prix-fixe lunch menu for only $19.12. Bring your coworkers and friends to discuss the climatic ending to another fabulous season. The special runs through Feb. 28. Will Lady Mary pick a suitor? Did Bates really do it? Make your reservations post haste. 594-3154, hoteldupont.com
