Caren Sachs and partner Gary Egberts wanted to make people more aware of what they are putting into their bodies. That inspired them to found Elements of Nutrition.
The health store offers vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and eco-friendly products. From organic produce to pet supplies, Elements of Nutrition offers an array of ways to help people improve their lifestyle.
“The human body is full of elements,” Sachs says. “In order to get it functioning properly, you need elements that work with one another.”
In addition to the store’s Kirkwood Highway location, Sachs and Egberts run a food truck called Gonzo’s Kitchen. After customers expressed concerns about the limited organic and vegan places in Wilmington, Sachs says, “we wanted to be a part of the solution.”
Gonzo’s Kitchen is typically parked at 3605 Capitol Trail behind Bellefonte Brewing Company, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Elements of Nutrition was recognized by the Delaware Small Business Chamber as Retailer of the Year in 2016.
