Lewes Polar Bear Plunge
On the first weekend of February, jump into the chilly Atlantic at Rehoboth Beach to benefit Special Olympics Delaware. If you’re too timid to take a dip, show up and watch more than 3,500 brave souls take the plunge. It’s a great spectator sport.
Oyster Eat and Shrimp Feast
Slurp oysters and devour egg salad sandwiches at the male-only Georgetown Fire Company’s annual Oyster Eat. You haven’t lived until you’ve clogged to bluegrass on a sawdust-covered floor. Ladies do their thing the same night at the Lewes Fire Department’s Shrimp Feast.
