Groups visiting the Middletown Designer Show House can turn their tour into an event by adding a private lunch, afternoon tea or evening wine tasting in the Show House.
“It’s a great way to bring the whole group together to socialize after the house tour,” says JoAnne Hewlett of Make a Memory Event Planning and Photo Booth, who organizes the group events. Afternoon tea ($25 per person) from 2 to 4 p.m. includes a choice of several specialty teas from the Purple Sage and cookies made by Sweet Melissa, both Middletown businesses. The wine tasting ($35 per person) includes cheeses and a tasting of four to five wines. Groups choosing lunch can select their own menu ($30 per person), with food provided by area restaurants and caterers. All prices include a tour and refreshments.
Lunches, teas and wine tastings are available to groups of 10 or more on Thursdays from April 19 to May 17. Groups also can be accommodated on other weekdays, Hewlett says.
