Although Immaculata garnered national notoriety in 2011 from the film, “The Mighty Macs” (the historic story of the school’s women’s basketball team sweeping three consecutive national tournaments during the early 1970s), there is so much more to this small Catholic university. It became co-ed in 2005, and students study in more than 60 academic disciplines in small classroom settings: More than 80 percent of classes have fewer than 20 students. 1145 King Road, Immaculata, Pa., (610) 647-4400, immaculata.edu
