It’s all about the patient to Janice E. Nevin, M.D., of Wilmington, and that’s clutch—her employer, Christiana Care Health System, logged more than 2 million patient encounters last year. As its chief medical officer, Nevin is charged with improving clinical excellence, patient safety and care. Not only did Nevin help guide the $250 expansion underway at Wilmington Hospital, where she was formerly vice president and executive director, she’s also helping to reinforce an inter-disciplinary team approach that helps physicians, nurses, pharmacists, specialized therapists and others work together to improve outcomes—and to redefine the culture. “It is immensely rewarding to now be part of an organization that is so committed to the health of the community in which I both work and live,” she says.
