He abhors the abuse of power, and has always challenged injustice. Bullies come in the form of individuals, institutions and nations. Joe has never wavered in his commitment to stand up to them. There is no daylight between the private man and public persona. His actions over the course of his life give the measure of the man. It is this genuineness that people relate to. He speaks the truth, and he’s an even better listener.
