Nurse educators are in a special position to help mold the profession of nursing to meet the health care needs of patients, families and communities today and tomorrow. Nurses are in tune with the client needs and, as such, hold a pivotal role in changing the health of our nation. Great nurse educators help students learn how to teach themselves and ready them for a profession that demands lifelong inquisitiveness and learning. I have been privileged to have UD grads care for family members. Their knowledge, skill, professionalism and caring made me appreciate the efforts of nurse educators in general and especially thankful for the skills of my colleagues at UD.
