St. Anthony’s Italian Festival
Celebrate the spirit of Sicily during this week-long festival in Wilmington’s Little Italy. From sausage and pepper sandwiches to cannoli, the Italian fare is authentic, and there’s plenty of it. There are rides for the kids and live music for all.

Clifford Brown Jazz Festival
This fest honors native son “Brownie,” who jammed with cool cats like Dizzy Gillespie and Sonny Rollins before the trumpeter was killed in a car accident in 1956. Free concerts in Wilmington’s Rodney Square feature some of the hottest—meaning coolest—musicians on the scene. Wynton Marsalis has been a headliner.
