Linda Parkowski: Delaware Women in Business

Despite the recession, the tourism industry in Delaware has grown 30 percent in recent years. Thank Linda Parkowski, director of tourism for the state. Though she has served groups from the Governor’s Tourism Advisory Board and Kent County Convention and Visitors Bureau to the Delaware Tourism Alliance and Delaware Hotel & Lodging Association, her main job is to promote Delaware as a destination. She and her team in the Delaware Economic Development Office also help existing tourism businesses to prosper. Three related initiatives: the successful Delaware Geocaching Trail, the Delaware History Trail, and the Delaware Wine and Ale Trail. Coming soon: another cool tourism trail. Stay tuned.
