“A few years ago, we had over 75 interested franchisees,” says Lori Schell who, with Taryn Burris, owns and manages the enormously popular Kids Cottage Drop-In Play and Learning Center in Rehoboth Beach. “We realized, however, that focusing solely on the Rehoboth and Dover locations would allow us to make the two facilities even better and give us more time to spend with our families”—a must for the two former elementary school teachers. Kids Cottage and its sister, the esteemed Little School in Dover, have a reputation for exceeding standards for kindergarten prep, and in a way that kids simply love. “Parents come to us almost daily to ask us to help get their children to leave because the children want to stay longer,” Schell says.
