Nurse Practitioner | Pediatrics-Neonatal
Martha Coppage-Lawrence, RN, MSN, CPNP, Christiana Care Health System
The most important aspects of being a pediatric nurse practitioner are dedication to improving children’s health through quality care based on research, helping patients and their families navigate the health care system, and educating patients and their families on healthy life choices. One of the most important qualities for a pediatric nurse practitioner is the ability to build trusting relationships with patients. With adolescents in particular, that relationship enables a provider to empower patients to make healthier decisions. It is rewarding to have teens seek you out to ask for advice or watch them make a better choice based on a conversation you have had with them.
