Most Brides Opt Out of Carrying a Purse

Share

Great shoes are a definite. A clutch to match? That’s up to the bride. Naturally she won’t carry it down the aisle, but she may want it later for holding lipstick and necessities. Or should she just have a friend keep those items on hand?

Most brides aren’t using bags, local bridal consultants say. Those who do sometimes use a vintage bag from mom or grandma. But there is a selection of bags available at local bridal salons for brides who choose to buy one. Cornell-Ferris recommends a tiny beaded bag that coordinates with the gown. Mitchell sells a few diamond-white purses, but most brides are purchasing rhinestone clutches that can be used again and again. “Instead of buying a purse for the wedding, some brides will buy a beautiful little bag for the rehearsal dinner or honeymoon,” Jaymand notes.

Brides make a fashion statement with the ways they choose to accessorize. With all the details to choose from, a bride can be sure her look will say, “Here comes the bride—and she’s something special.”
