Nursing, Education and Business Majors Will Want to Consider Wesley College, Delaware’s Oldest Private Institution

Private doesn’t have to mean pricey, as 90-percent of full-time students receive financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants and more.

Wesley College
Delaware’s oldest private college makes its home in the historic district of the state capital in Dover. A variety of liberal arts and sciences programs are offered to students, and some of the most popular majors are related to nursing, education and business. Meanwhile, a second campus in nearby New Castle serves working adults.

The numbers: 1,587 full-time undergrads … 1280 median SAT (comparable to an 18 ACT) … $23,540 annual tuition, $10,438 annual room and board … 30 bachelor’s programs … ranked 38th among northern colleges by U.S. News … 62.6% acceptance rate. Extra credit: Wesley may not be a public school, but that doesn’t mean cost-conscious undergraduates can’t get a private education without breaking the bank. Every year, 90 percent of the full-time students receive financial aid in the form of scholarships, institutional grants, federal and state grants, student loans, work study, and on-campus employment. Compare to: York College of Pennsylvania, Salisbury University. Contact: 120 N.
