Salesianum School

A Roman Catholic college preparatory high school educating young men in the tradition of St. Francis de Sales (salesianum.org)

This school for young men made its mark in diversity in 1950 by admitting five African-American students four years before a Supreme Court decision made desegregation mandatory—making Sallies Delaware’s first integrated school.

Today, the school has a diverse student population from different ethnic, racial, socioeconomic backgrounds “and a surprising number of religious faiths,” according to the school’s Web site, but share a desire to be educated following the gentleman saint, Francis de Sales.
