The most important aspect of my specialty is including patients in decision-making. It takes a nurse with patience who can be open to new ideas. Most rewarding in my specialty is continuity of care. We work with women for a lifetime. Delaware Advanced Practice Nurses is working to adopt the consensus model, which will standardize licensure, accreditation, certification and education for all advanced practice nurses. This will promote patient safety and allow APRNs to practice to the full extent of their education and licensure.
