Old World decor and outstanding food have made Chino and Karen Pedemonte’s Bon Appetit (312 High St., 629-3700) the local gourmet secret. Nowhere else will you find pickled herring in sour cream, and it remains one of the last places to eat escargot. That’s not to mention classic entrées such as steak au poivre and chicken Marsala.
