ShureLine Electrical, headquartered in Smyrna, has a remarkable reach. Founded in 1997, the company serves all of Delaware and dips into Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Its geographic service area also extends into southeastern Pennsylvania and central and southern New Jersey.

“We have a seven-days-a-week, 24-hours-a-day service division—with no extra charges,” says Tim Murray, vice president of sales and marketing. In addition to the Smyrna location, there are offices in Newport and Georgetown. “When we say we’ll be there, we’ll be there,” Murray says. “We have more than 80 employees, 15 service vans and two bucket trucks.”

The breadth of ShurLine’s offerings is as vast as its coverage area. A rarity among electrical contractors, the company features residential—including new and existing homes—commercial and industrial services, as well as design-build services. Clients range from shopping centers that need parking lot lights to industrial clients that need a factory design, to homeowners who need new outlets. “We’re well-rounded,” Murray says.

Specialties include generator sales and installation, TV and audio cabling, camera installation, computer network cabling, and pool, deck, and spa wiring.

Being a Better Business Bureau Serving Delaware accredited business has been a boon for ShureLine.

“A lot of homeowners check your status with the BBB,” Murray says. “It’s a benefit for us. They can see we have an A+ rating, and that can make the deal.”
