Jimmy’s Grille
It may now be owned by the group that owns the big party places in Dewey Beach, but Jimmy’s keeps its simple charms. It’s still famous for its crispy fried chicken, which people order to-go by the truckload. There’s turkey and gravy, meatloaf and burgers. There are lima beans and collard greens, corn pudding, sweet potato souffle, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, and other favorites. And there are desserts, made on-site, that would sink the Titanic. Jimmy’s is still famous for its pies, and you won’t find coconut meringue in many others places. The bright turquoise and pink walls hail back to another era. So does the friendly service. 18541 S. Southern Fare and Sinful Desserts at Jimmy’s Grill
Owned by Dewey Beach nightlife entrepreneurs, the service and quality make it more down-home than party city, with enough fried chicken and lemon meringue pie to make Georgia jealous.
