“I work in a very male dominated field,” Susan E. Sweeney says of the manufacturing industry. “The fact that I have been successful for many years is probably the greatest accomplishment, truly an anomaly.” As vice president of global operations for GGB, Sweeney oversees everything from supply and quality control to engineering and production of high-performance bearings at 10 manufacturing sites in six countries. After 25 years in manufacturing, she is writing a dissertation for her doctorate in organizational leadership.
