“Perceived stigma remains a barrier to people engaging in HIV care. Our program (HIV Early Intervention Services Program) established community partnerships in order to allow client access to HIV care in nontraditional settings. I strive to provide clinically excellent HIV care to clients who often have multiple medical co-morbidities, including mental health issues and substance use problems. Psychosocial issues often include lack of health insurance and unstable housing situations. We work as a multidisciplinary team to address all of these issues.”
