When Bella Coast opened in 2014 on Concord Pike, it breathed new life into a somewhat stale North Wilmington dining scene. Part of Norman and Eric Sugrue’s Big Fish Restaurant Group, the upscale-casual eatery served simple Italian favorites like pizza, pasta and antipasto.
Rumors that Touch of Italy was eyeing Bella Coast have been swirling in recent months—and according to the restaurant’s social-media pages, the transition is indeed taking place this week. The restaurant closed on Monday, Sept. 17, and will reopen under new ownership on Friday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m.
The revamped menu will include some of Touch of Italy’s existing specialties. (Let’s hope the ricotta cookies make the cut!)
Touch of Italy also has locations in Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, plus a Milford location in the works.
