Ursuline Academy responded to the call for students to be global citizens by establishing a Global Education Program three years ago and carrying it to new heights with the hiring of alumna Amanda Perry Neill (’95) to lead it. Ursuline is part of a network of 105 Ursuline schools on six continents.
“Ursuline’s Global Education Program is more than just an ‘exchange’ program,” says Neill. “It’s a program designed to develop a broader perspective of the world for every student.” Students learn about other cultures through the lens of their sister students, by being guests in their homes and by hosting them here in Wilmington. Beyond travel, Neill works to make sure every student gets a worldview through videoconferencing about current or historical events.
