EDITORS’ PICK, UPSTATE
The thing that makes Wilmington Country Club’s South Course great is that it’s a course that is very playable for all levels of ability. While this old-time Robert Trent Jones-designed course is enjoyable for high handicappers and seniors, it can be set up to hold its own against the best players on the PGA Tour. (Some say it’s the best course in the region, with the exception of Marion and Pine Valley.) 4825 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, 655-6171, wilmingtoncc.com

EDITORS’ PICK, DOWNSTATE
Lots of water makes Rehoboth Beach Country Club, on Rehoboth Bay, one of the most scenic in the Mid-Atlantic. 221 West Side Drive, Rehoboth Beach, 227-3811, rehobothbeachcc.com

, designed by Tom Fazio, has recently undergone a renovation of the course’s bunkers and the facility, making it better than ever. 1 Hartefeld Drive, Avondale, Pa., (610) 268-8800, clubcorp.com/Clubs/Hartefeld-National
