Wilmington Welcomes Bubble Shack, a New Vietnamese Takeout Spot

Plus, let us know what you think of Delaware’s ethnic dining scene!

Ethnic dining options were once nearly nonexistent in the First State—but these days, the choices are limitless. (See last month’s epic dining guide.)

Joining Delaware’s diverse ranks of eateries is Bubble Shack, a Vietnamese sandwich and bubble tea shop opening Saturday, March 3, in Gilpin Plaza on Concord Pike, which also houses Manhattan Bagel and McLaren’s Irish Pub. (The restaurant replaces 2 Fat Guys, which offered takeout burgers and wings.)

Bubble Shack will offer all the Vietnamese classics—the banh mi (with your choice of ham, head cheese, steamed pork or barbecue pork), grilled sandwiches and vegan options, ranging from $5.25–$5.75. Appetizers include spring rolls, summer rolls, beef stew and meatballs, ranging from $4–$7.95.

Wash down your meal with bubble tea—a tea base mixed with fruit or milk that can be customized with a variety of flavored syrups, jellies and pearls. Iced and hot coffee will also be available.
