“When the summer ends and most of the visitors return home, it is time for locals to enjoy all that Rehoboth Beach has to offer,” Westerfield says. But there’s still fun to be had for all. “Through social media, print, our new text club and informational website, I am working to bring shoppers and diners downtown all year long.” Westerfield took over Main Street about 2 ½ years ago. Not only does she continue to strengthen the town’s commercial core and champion town events like the Rehoboth Chocolate Festival, restaurant week, the holiday tree lighting and the July Fourth fireworks, she was applauded in Parade Magazine for fundraising on behalf of Literacy Volunteers of America.
