Bagatta-Bowles has been a Y professional for 24 years, working her way up through the organization. When she scored the top job in Delaware, she became leader of the only statewide YMCA in the country. Not only was she the first woman to fill the position, but she was also the first woman to fill her three previous Y roles. “I hire and work hard to keep the best people, and I encourage them to challenge me, the organization and the status quo. By surrounding myself with people who bring a spirit of inquiry and innovation, a love for the good work we do, and a desire to deliver excellence, I get stronger.”
