Lyons is immediate and unequivocal when asked what her greatest personal success has been: “The Coastal Point,” she says. “Seeing this start from sitting at my kitchen table with our editor and my business partner, Darin McCann, to celebrating our 10th anniversary of publication this February is extremely rewarding.” In this changing media landscape, the weekly paper was Lyons’ return to community journalism in Southeastern Sussex. Lyons coordinates all departments, including editorial, advertising, circulation and graphic arts, and acts as advertising manager. The next effort: expanding the paper’s online presence and producing new streams of revenue.
