Tywanda L. Howie

Owner, Naturally Redefined; Marketing and Communications Associate, United Way of Delaware

“I guess I’m some cross blend of Maya Angelou, Oprah, Iyanla Vanzant and Michelle Obama in my heart,” says Howie, a former corporate trainer. In addition to running her own holistic health company and working for United Way, she has written a book, “Between Proverbs and Poetry,” and considers herself a motivational speaker. “In my perfect utopia I am the editor-in-chief of Essence magazine or my very own magazine, Mahogany, all while working as an adjunct English professor at some Ivy League institution who takes sabbaticals to write books and travel the world encouraging everyone to be their best self through speaking engagements, editorials and serving on panels.” The next step: completing a doctoral program to land that university teaching gig.
