Mint. Basil. Tarragon. These herbs are commonly used in savory sauces and salad dressings, but they’re increasingly popping up in tasty beverages, too.
The Hilton Wilmington/Christiana recently underwent a massive renovation, and its swankily updated restaurant, Market Kitchen & Bar, features new farm-to-table dishes and handcrafted cocktails. Many items on the menu include ingredients from local purveyors like Dogfish Head and Woodside Farm. But the best part? Several of the dishes and drinks are made with fresh vegetables and herbs from the hotel’s own courtyard garden, planted and harvested by food and beverage director Keith Davis.
Choose from four refreshing non-alcoholic drinks, each made with a different blend of fruits and herbs: Jersey-Berry Lemonade; Kiwi-Pineapple Ginger; Basil-Guava Orangeade and Strawberry-Basil Lemonade. Or, try one of the cocktails—we recommend the Dogfish-Tarragon Lemonade, made with fresh lemon juice, housemade tarragon simple syrup and Dogfish vodka.
