As Hermann talks about her love of Zumba, a fellow staff member in the background at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington yells, “We love it!” Hermann just laughs. “I started in October 2010,” she says. “I heard about it through TV. Then I learned it was offered here. I took one class and said, ‘Where have you been all my life?’” She took a teaching course the following December. Since April she’s been leading classes at the hospital. “It’s an all-around workout,” says the “late-40ish” Hermann, of Wilmington. “It’s not standing on a treadmill bored to death or doing something so routine that you just don’t want to do it.” Her advice: “If you like to move to music, just do it. There’s no pressure on you to perform. You do whatever you do at your level. How much you push yourself is up to you.”
